Coastal Blue Table

If you've been reading my blog for awhile, then I'm sure you know I'm a white kinda girl. White painted furniture sells well in my booth and I use a lot of white in my home so that's what I go with. But lately, I've been living on the edge a bit and have been painting pieces in black, light gray and charcoal gray. Still in the neutral family, but I'm taking baby steps. ;) I broadened my horizons even more last weekend and painted a table a gorgeous dark navy blue using General Finishes Coastal Blue milk paint. I LOVE this color!!! Simply gorgeous!

I found this small table awhile ago and knew it would be the perfect piece for this perfect blue.

Two coats of Coastal Blue, distressed, sealed with polycrylic and a stenciled top for a little something special and you've got an unbelievably cute table!!!

Every time I start painting a piece with legs like this, I always ask myself why I continue to buy pieces with legs like this. They are a pain to paint, but so worth it in the end!!

Sigh....it's just so pretty!

  2. Very pretty, Melissa! The table turned out great and I love the stencil on top. I had to laugh because I always curse the leg on tables and some chairs I am painting, but, you are right, it is worth the aggravation in the end.

  5. Love the legs & and I always ask myself the same question. And I love the color...I painted our sideboard in our upstairs hallway that color and love it. It is a great neutral amongst all my white!
